Early Learning Programs
Play-based, evidence-driven curricula for children ages zero to five.
Early Learning Programs
Every child is born ready to learn. At BrightRoots, our Early Learning Programs are designed for children from birth through age five, building on the natural curiosity and wonder that define early childhood. We believe that when children are given the right environment, the right encouragement, and the right experiences, they blossom in extraordinary ways.
A Play-Based, Evidence-Driven Approach
Our curriculum is rooted in decades of developmental research and guided by the understanding that young children learn best through play. Rather than worksheets and drills, our classrooms are filled with hands-on exploration, creative expression, collaborative activities, and joyful discovery. Every activity is intentionally designed to support growth across all developmental domains: cognitive, social-emotional, language, physical, and adaptive skills.
Our certified early childhood educators use ongoing observation and developmental screening to tailor experiences to each child's unique strengths and needs. We follow a responsive teaching model, meeting children where they are and gently stretching their abilities toward the next milestone.
Developmental Milestones We Support
From a baby's first grasps and babbles to a five-year-old's budding literacy and friendships, our programs nurture growth at every stage:
- Infants (0-12 months): Sensory exploration, tummy time activities, caregiver bonding, early language exposure through songs and stories
- Toddlers (1-3 years): Gross and fine motor development, vocabulary building, parallel play, self-regulation foundations, creative art exploration
- Preschoolers (3-5 years): Pre-literacy and early math concepts, cooperative play, problem-solving, school readiness skills, social confidence building
Sensory Exploration and Discovery
Young children experience the world through their senses, and our classrooms reflect that truth. Sensory stations are woven throughout every learning space, including water and sand tables, texture walls, music corners, light exploration areas, and outdoor garden beds. These experiences strengthen neural pathways, support language development, and build the foundation for scientific thinking.
School Readiness
Our programs prepare children not just academically but holistically for the transition to kindergarten. School readiness at BrightRoots means a child who is confident, curious, kind, and capable. We focus on:
- Early literacy: Letter recognition, phonological awareness, a deep love of stories and books
- Numeracy foundations: Counting, sorting, pattern recognition, spatial reasoning
- Social skills: Taking turns, expressing feelings, working in groups, building friendships
- Self-care: Independence in daily routines like dressing, eating, and tidying up
- Emotional resilience: Managing frustration, asking for help, celebrating effort over perfection
Family Partnership
We know that families are a child's first and most important teachers. Our Early Learning Programs include regular family conferences, take-home activity kits, a monthly developmental newsletter, and an open-door classroom policy so families always feel welcome and involved. Together, we create a circle of support that helps every child thrive.
Enrollment and Schedule
Early Learning sessions run Monday through Friday, with morning and afternoon options available. All programs are offered free of charge to families in our service area, with sliding-scale fees for extended programming. Class sizes are intentionally small to ensure every child receives individualized attention.
